2 ans… Two long years that I have not posted you d’interview. Yet j & rsquo; love to introduce the people who m & rsquo; inspire.
This presentation is a bit special, because it is dedicated to a person who is part of the blog daily, his illustrator, Morgane pretty and beautiful background d & rsquo; screen.
We met on the net and since we work together. This Parisian at heart a gold pencil stroke of her own, and made me travel to each of his drawings.
Since when do you draw ?
Since childhood ! I have always taken great pleasure in drawing and have never stopped !
What is your school background ?
I had a fairly classic school career ! I had a literary general baccalauréat, then I was two years in an applied arts school. This school taught me everything and allowed me to turn my passion into a profession !
Can you explain the process followed when creating a new illustration, reflection, contact ?
The creative process is always the same ! I always start by reading about the subject addressed! I read books and I travel the web in order to better master the subject being asked to deal. Ensuite, I realize tons of sketches to become familiar as possible with the project topic ! This step is the most laborious ! It may take several days. Ensuite, among the hundreds of sketches I isolate those who are most successful, I scan them and I ink on Photoshop and Illustrator ! Then comes the moment of customer rendering : This step is always very stressful because I'm always afraid of not being up to the expectations of my clients ! The exchanges are always interesting hypermarkets they always used to refine the initial rendering ! We always advance more effectively in teams !
How is a typical day ?
The typical day starts very early : I usually start working soon 6am ( oui, oui ! ) This is the time of day or I'm the most efficient and productive ! So I start my day with 1 hour of sketches to "warm up". Once this session is over, I look at my to-do-list which summarizes the requests of my clients and !was achieving my personal goals ! I punctuated my day by going regularly to aerate me not to overdose of drawings.
A project that has marked your career ?
As a matter of fact, all the projects I have done have marked me in the same way : It is always a great joy to collaborate with my clients !
What advice can you give learning level and equipment to someone who wants to start in the illustration ?
Je donnerai le conseil qu’on m’a moi-même donné et qui ne m’a jamais quitté : Ne pas avoir peur de rater ! Make 1000 drawings, rater 999 fois, et garder celui qui est réussi ! No need to ruin equipment to start. For my part, J’ai tout appris avec un critérium et du papier recyclé !
Tes projets pour l’avenir ?
Several editorial projects are underway, but my personal ambition would be to specialize in children's illustrations.
